The Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 Sucks!

I don’t necessarily object to athletes gathering and competing in the Olympic games; in fact I don’t mind sitting up until late or even till dawn to watch sports TV programs of those games held elsewhere on the other side of the globe.

I am worried, of cause, about the recent tendency of the ugly commercialization and overgrowth of the Olympiad along with political exploitation by the hegemonist nations, all of which is casting a shadow over its healthy operation. Nevertheless, as a former rugger man, I am expecting to see rugby football return to the Olympic games in  Rio de Janeiro, 2016.

But, THING is different when it comes to Tokyo’s Olympiad that will be held in 2020. I would like you guys who live outside of Japan to remember this country is even now suffering the radioctive contamination.

The damned nuke in Fukushima is scouring the radioactive water like loose bowels into the ocean. TEPCO pumps water into the damaged reactors to cool the molten nuke fuel chunks, pump out the water, and store it in water tanks– so they say, but we don’t know where the molten fuel chunks are. They may most likely be sitting deep under the ground after melting through the reactors and containment vessels.

TEPCO insists the fuel is still inside the each CV but nobody has seen it and non of the Japanese believes what TEPCO says.  And a portion of the water pumped into the reactors reaches the molten fuel to be cooled, then soaks into the soil, merges the underground water, and eventually flows into the ocean to pollute the seawater. However, disregarding the contaminated underground water not counted, TEPCO announces that the cooling water is retrieved.

Fishing is prohibited on the adjacent waters off Fukushima nuke but the area is limited and radioactive pollution is widespread beyond. Even numb-headed Japanese avoid buying the fish if they are from Fukushima ports. The trick is that fishermen can land their catches at any port or wharf elsewhere other than Fukushima prefecture.

Talking about the radioactive fallout belched by the exploding nukes–  the tremendous amount of the radioactive gases, particles, and dusts, were released in the atmosphere, and then flown away. They adhered or absorbed to the soil, fallen leaves, wood bark and so on, thus contaminated the environment in Tohoku an Kanot regions including Tokyo. Yet, the Japanese Government explains that decontamination is possible and the effort is being made.

Again, that’s a farce. They just remove the surface of soil and fallen leaves, wash the road surface, scrub the roofs and wipe the tiles of buildings, leaving behind the rest of the vast land– you’ve gotta know the fact that 2/3 of the land is forest, and it is obviously impossible to clean up the contamination of the entire landmass.

The Government’s clever action against the impossible task is so disgusting; instead of evacuating the residents, they raised the limit of the Fukushima residents’ air radiation exposure dose up to 20mSv per year, whereas the air dose limit in the legal radiation control area, such as nuke and X-ray chamber, is 1.3mSv per three months. Along with this absurd decision, the Government’s negligence of the internal exposure puts the residents’ health in hazards.

The newly appointed Minister for the Olympics has brought up and such a wonderful suggestion that preliminary heats of the Olympic games could take place in Fukushima in order to cheer up the residents who still suffer the aftermaths of the earthquake, tunami, and nuke accident– what a splendid idea! (to kill people softly, silently, and slowly).

In Tokyo, there have been many “hotspots” discovered since the nuke accident. The air radiation dose rates at the hotspots are as high as those of Fukushima. The samples of soil taken from the hotspots indicate the dangerously high radioactivity.

So much for the stupidity, I have said. I am not any more about to add MINOR stuff like the humongous National Stadium, whose original estimated cost would have been equivalent to or more than the sum of the building costs of the five main stadiums of the last four Olympic Games, from Sydney to London, and that of forthcoming Rio de Janeiro. Of course, money matters, but compared to the radiation hazards, the National Stadium scandal is nothing but a pokerino.

In order to win the hosting of the Olympiad in Tokyo, Prime Minister Abe exquisitely mentioned “the situation is under control” as well as the fancy-looking-but-impossible-to-build Stadium at the International Olympic Committee conference. He either didn’t know what he was saying or simply lied. In either case, Japan is led by an asshole.

I sincerely want you to think about what I have written above, and DON’T COME to Japan’s Olympic Games in 2020, whether as a spectator or an athlete.
