I have mentioned this a hundred times before, but here’s another one.

Every time I come to the National Ethnology Museum and see the quadrangle as I ascend the main flight , I cannot help imagining a polar bear or two to be hanging around in this space…
民博に行って中央階段を昇るときに、中庭を見ると必ず思うこと、この空間にシロクマが１〜２頭ウロウロしてたらなあ、、、って。
昨日に続き、また立誠シネマで映画。今日は『バンクシー・ダズ・ニューヨーク』ってやつ。
権威と、それに迎合する大手マスメディアと、さらにそれに洗脳されている無知な一般民衆は、彼のグラフィティを破壊と退廃でしかなく、街の美化を阻害し、社会の価値を貶めているというが、彼の作品にはおっそろしい値がつくし、大勢の人［見物にやってっきて、バンクシーの「ラクガキ」が描かれたビルや近隣は逆に潤っているという皮肉。
バンクシーの作品を街角から盗んで儲けようという輩や、それを仕入れて転売して利益を目論む画商らの浅ましさに、上から下めでアメリカ社会の筋金入り拝金主義を見せつけられた。
もうひとつ、バンクシーファンたちの熱中と狂騒とは裏腹に、highbrowアートの批評家たちによるバンクシーへの嫌悪と無視。彼らはやはりlowbrawなキース・ヘリングのことはどう評価しているのだろう。。。今やMETにも飾られるキースだって、売り出し中の頃は地下鉄駅の空き広告スペースへのラクガキで逮捕されたりしてたんだけど、、、。
さて、明日はガラリと趣向を変えて民博で黒澤の『デルス・ウザーラ』を見に行く。３日連チャンで映画か、、、 ふう。
New Sound Device experimenting
実験中の新しいサウンド装置
Having recently obtained a set of sound speakers (not for PC with the mini jack), I am working on a new device that connects ordinary speakers to a computer via USB port. The bare circuit board was a supplement to a science magazine or something, and I bought it secondhand.
（ミニジャックのパソコン用じゃない）普通のスピーカーを最近入手したので、それをパソコンにUSBポートでつなぐ新しい装置を試している。むき出しの基板は科学雑誌か何かの付録を中古で買った。
So far so good, though I am worried that the speakers’ impedance is a little bit lower than that of the board; the sound outcome from my ThinkPad is way far better, as long as the volume doesn’t go beyond the 75% level, at which the sound roars like thunders.
今のところ結果はまずまずだけど、スピーカーのインピーダンスが基板よりちょっぴり低いのが気になる。それでもThinkPadからの音声出力はめっちゃ良い、ただしボリュームを75％以上上げなきゃ、なんだけど。その辺まで行くともうまるで雷だわさ。
I will test the device on the fake Mac, uh no, check that, something I am dreaming of, which is undergoing OS upgrading from Maverick to El Capitan, and will see if the stuff works on OSX, too.
次は今OSをマヴェリックからエル・キャピタンにアップグレード中の偽マック、、、じゃなくて、夢に出てきた「アレ」につないでOSXでも走るかどうか試してみよう。
Worried about rust of my old Fiat 500, I have searched for an effective rust-prevention means, and remembered an electrical device I used to use for my pickup truck in Hokkaido. That one was really working (so I believe) and the truck never got rusty.
フィアット500のサビが心配で防錆方法をあちこち探していたら、北海道で乗っていたピックアップトラックに着けていた電気の機器を思い出した。あれはよく効いた（と信じてる）ので全然サビが出なかった。
There are various types of the anti-rust device on market, but they are all so expensive that I can’t afford to buy one. On a network auction, I found and bought a secondhand device that was reasonably priced, but unfortunately, it was out of order when arrived, and I had to return it to the seller.
いろんな防錆機器が売られてるけど、どれもこれも値段が高くてちょっと手がでない。ネットオークションで手頃な価格の中古品を買ったけど、着いてみたら壊れていたので結局返品した。
I continued searching and finally found one, which was even more inexpensive than the used one I bought before. It doesn’t look great, comes in a cheapie plastic casing with a simple label on it, and is sold on the website also as simple and plane.
また探し続けていたら、オークションで買った中古よりもっと安いのがついに見つかった。見た目はショボく、ちゃっちいプラスチックの箱に簡素なラベルが貼ってあるだけで、売ってるウェブサイトも同じように単純で質素な作りだ。
However, or therefore, I like that, and somehow feel that the whole business is so honestly run without affectation. The shop carries (and actually manufactures) electrical and electronic apparatuses all of which look as if they are kits of electronic circuits for science-minded high school students.
それでも、ていうか、だからこそ、こいつは気に入った。なんかこう、見かけ倒しじゃない正直な商売してるな、って感じ。この店（Project Dress Co.)は科学好きな高校生のための電子回路工作キットみたいな電子装置を売ってる（ていうか作ってるし）。
In today’s afternoon, I really enjoyed making the insulated anodes, wiring and installing the device to my Cinquecento. I am sure the stuff will work.
絶縁したアノード作って、配線して、チンク嬢にその装置を取り付けて、今日の午後は随分楽しんだ。こいつはきっと効果があるにちがいない。
As soon as I arrived at the Triplet cryptomerias, I noticed a green face emerging out of a fork of the trees. I couldn’t help recalling the ukiyoye faces by Sharaku, a famous and mysterious woodprint artist in the Edo period. 三本杉についたとたん、木の叉から緑の顔がのぞいているのに気がついた。江戸時代の謎の浮世絵師写楽が描いた顔を思い出さずにはいられなかった。
