Kugsleden Kitchen Brush

While in Scandinavia, not just at the kitchens of Kungsleden mountain huts, I often saw and used brushes to do dishes. I kinda felt uncomfortable with using a brush in the beginning, but as I got used to it, I found it handy.

The other day, I saw a very similar brush in a 100-yen shop (99¢ shop), reached for it and found out it actually was a toilet brush, of which the handle was only slightly longer.

I hesitated for a moment but bought it anyway. Back in my kitchen, it turned out to be too long for using in the sink. I decided to cut it short. Here are the photos of what I did…

Cut off a part of the handle, and melted the cross sections. With a piece of wood as a jig to align the parts straight in line, put the molten ends together to weld.

Well, it’s working! Looks exactly like the ones I used in Scandinavia. Who can tell it actually WAS a TOILET BRUSH?
