The Evenki of the Great Xingan Range (Daxinganling) are China’s only reindeer-herding tribe. Liuba is one of the few Evenki who went out of the mountain. She entered the Minzu University of China, studied art, and she became family’s honor. One day, when Liuba returned to the forest, the Evenki were experiencing a life-style transition from nomadic migration to settlement dwelling; yet, with the reindeer−god of the family treasure beside her, Liuba could feel some calmness of her mind, but in the forest, it seemed she was different from the other Evenki people. Finally, Liuba left home, walking for four days to go 300 kilometers, and got married with an elder worker in the forest. He loved her so much, and she was just grateful for that. Liuba still hadn’t given up the mountain life and the reindeers, so that she returned to the settlement of her tribe, Along with the reindeer-god’s delivery and its death, Liuba, too, gave birth to a daughter ……

Naturally, both the engine and the drivetrain with a v-belt undergoes the tremendous friction and heat stress during acceleration and climbing a steep slope.
まあ、当然なんだけど、加速したりきつい坂を登るとエンジンやVベルトの駆動系にはトンデモない摩擦と熱のストレスが掛かる。
I felt something funny as I was riding her the other day (Ur… a bit mean expression, huh?)– the engine revs much faster athwart than usual along with a squeak as she accelerates. Aha, loosened belt!– I figured, and tightened it accordingly. Nevertheless, the slipping and screeching persisted, so that I inspected the clutch then.
ついこないだ彼女に乗っていたら(わ~、変な表現!)加速のときにキュルキュル音出しながらいつもよりエンジンの回転が速い。ははあ、ベルトが緩んだな!と思って、ちゃんと締めてやった。なのに、滑りも金切り声もなくならない。そんでもってクラッチの点検をやった。
As I figured, the clutch linings had worn. Though not completely worn out, the liners were too slippery and had to be renewed. I had purchased a set of clutch shoes before, and replaced the old ones with them. While the clutch was renewed, the old tension springs were reused. though.
思った通りクラッチライニングがすり減っていた。完全に減りきってはいなかったけど、ライナーはスベスベで取替なきゃない。前にクラッチシューのセットを買ってあったので、古いのと取り替えた。クラッチはまっさらになったけど、テンションスプリングは古いのを使っちゃったんだなあ、これが、、、
Now that my lady Ciao had complete (so I thought) drivetrain, she would never complain with a shriek. Yes, the dull acceleration and noise were gone, but there was another problem: the crutch was half-engaged even when the engine was running idle, meaning the poor moped crept forward if I didn’t hold back on to the handle bar. But at the same time, the idling rev slowed down due to the clutch friction, so that I had to contradictorily open the gas grip in order to cancel the risk of engine stall.
チャオお嬢様は完璧になった(と思った)駆動系もらったんで、キーキー文句はおっしゃるまい。はい、確かに鈍くさい加速と変な音は無くなった、、、けどまた別の問題が、、、。アイドリング時も半クラ蝶タイで、クリープ現象が起きてしまい、止まっていてもハンドルを押さえておかないと勝手に前に行ってしまう。その一方、摩擦でアイドル回転が遅くなり、矛盾するけどエンストを防ぐのにアクセルグリップを開いてやらないといけなくなった。
The cause was apparent. I should have replace the heat-retempered springs along with the clutch shoes. And I had to do the whole precess of dismantling the clutch, removing and replacing the springs, then putting everything back in place– and done. phew!
原因ははっきりしてる。クラッチシューと一緒に焼き戻されてなまったスプリングも取り替えるべきだったんだ。それで、また一からクラッチを分解し、スプリングを取替て、もう一度元に戻す。。。やっと完成。ふう!
Voila! She is perfect now.
ほれこのとおり!(つか、見えんけどさ)今度こそ完璧。
